Actions are a separate bit of code that you can install on your page to track other things besides a page view.

Beyond just the page view, you can track things such as clicks, video views, purchases, form submissions, scroll, and pop-up.

The base funnelytics code does need to be installed first and it does need to be triggered before the action script is triggered.

The action script contains an event name and customizable parameters.

The event name identifies the event. The parameters are used to further filter the specific action.
