This feature allows you to display numbers on your funnel to different perspectives:

  • Individual People  - Shows individual people who visited your site and performed specific actions, regardless of how many times. It will always count as UNIQUE.
  • Total Numbers - Shows all activity from all people who visited your site.

To note:

Default setting in Funnelytics currently is individual numbers view.

This setting will also apply to the referrer list.

How to change to/from Individual People View and Total Numbers View:

So, what do these different perspectives tell me?

Being on total numbers shows you all the activity on your site in a given time frame. It is useful to see how many times a person is going to your site repeatedly, for example. It does not account for visitor types or frequencies of individual visitors, actions taken, etc. Example: A person came to your site 5 times in 30 days, and refreshed the page 3 times. For those 30 days that person will count as 8 visits.

Being on the individual people setting will allow you to get a better idea as to how people are flowing through your funnel as opposed to your total numbers. This is useful because one person might view the same page multiple times.

This filter therefore provides you with a better insight, as without it, you might think that there are more people on your page than there really are.

That is why Funnelytics now provides you the option to choose between viewing all the total numbers or seeing only those that come from individual, unique users.
