In this guide, we'll go over how to verify that your actions are being received by Funnelytics.
Note: If your IP is blacklisted in the workspace settings you will not be able to see the network request.
When an event code snippet is fired, a request is made to our servers with the name of 'trigger'.
We can see if Funnelytics received that event by checking in our developer tools and going to the network tab. To open the developer tools, right click on the page and choose "Inspect".
The elements tab of the developers tools will open. Navigate to the tab titled "Network"
Ensure that you are recording the processes, preserving the log, and have 'all' requests selected.
The Trigger Request
Now let's test the event. Perform the action the should trigger the event. In the network tab, filter the results by the word 'trigger'.
If the event was received by Funnelytics you should see an event named trigger with a status of 200.
If you were to click on that network request you would be able to see the actual payload information that was sent to Funnelytics.
Name and Attributes
The 'name' and 'attributes' in your event need to match the settings in an action event in Funnelytics.
In this example, the event has a name of 'click' and attributes of id: 'upsell_kpi'.
To show this exact event in Funneltyics the settings would look like this on an action icon:
If you receive an error in the console about the script being undefined, verify that the base tracking script is installed on the page and has already loaded by the time the event code snippet was triggered. The base Funnelytics script must be loaded before any actions can be triggered.
