[Performance] Canvas Overview

This overview will help you get familiarized with the Funnelytics canvas and how to get started mapping your first funnel!

In this article, our principal goal is to get you familiarized with the mapping canvas, so you can get to building out your first funnel quickly and easily!

The canvas is where you are going to be spending a lot of your time mapping out your sales funnels, so naturally it's important that you understand how to navigate it, and all the features of the canvas itself. 

Mapping your first funnel:

Here's a recap of what you will find on the Canvas: 

Inside the canvas, you will notice there is an icon folder on the top sidebar.

Each tab on the top sidebar corresponds to a different set of icons that can be used to place on the canvas, as follows:

Add Step:

To add a new step to the canvas, right click or select the + icon in the top tool bar. Map Icons or Explorer. From there you can select between Pages, Actions, Sources and Offline. 

Pages:

The pages tab contains icons that would represent the different pages in your funnel. You can style each page to customize the label, create a thumbnail preview of the page from a URL, and various other settings.

Actions:

The actions tab consists of potential actions that a customer may take on your site, from purchases to booking meetings and scrolling! For Pro Users: You can track them separately using Google Tag Manager. Check out this article (and the Tracking Data Fundamentals section in the Education Hub to learn more!)

Sources:

Traffic icons represent where your traffic comes from. Whether that is Facebook, Google, an Email, or an Affiliate. You can style the label and icon. For Pro Users: This is where you will add your  input your UTM parameters.

Offline:

The offline tab contains icons that represent the offline interaction or miscellaneous events that your customers have. Anything that happens offline is represented here.
Offline marketing interactions include anything from billboards, signs, and pamphlets, to calls and telemarketing.

Additional Tool Bar Features:

Click the chevron beside the canvas name to restore your canvas to a previous saved version. Add Text, Shapes, Select, Pan the canvas or Export as a PNG, zoom and a link to the Funnelytics Help Desk can also be found in the top of canvas tool bar.

Performance Features: 

At the top of the canvas, you'll see a Analytics toggle. Click the toggle to add Numbers to your map and access the filters tab which will pop up on the left.

Numbers:

Numbers are used to understand and visualize how unique people flow through your pages, traffic sources, ads, etc, across your marketing funnels. Once in analyze mode, you can view the people and referrers on a given page to learn and understand better what is happening on that page specifically. The numbers on the line represent the conversion rate between two assets mapped on the canvas. 

Filters:

Filter and compare canvas analytics by date range, device, specific people or people who performed a specific step.

Widgets:

Turn on Analytics to view your widget data. Then add unique people and country profiles to the canvas. New widgets will be added regularly.

Reports:

Turn on Analytics to build reports. Then select anywhere on the canvas you'd like to begin report building. Copy paste or select and drag any existing maps to add them to reports. You can customize report names, lock or download reports. Automate and share functions are coming soon!
