[Legacy 1.0] How to Track Google Ads (GCLID)

How to track traffic that has come from Google Ads using the GCLID

This article is a part of our legacy installation and does not apply to our Funnelytics 2.0 Performance Platform

Google Ads (formerly known as Google Adwords) automatically adds a parameter to all the clicks from an Ad. That parameter is the Google Click Identifier (GCLID).

This is a feature in Google Ads that is called "auto-tagging".

The most simple way to track ALL google ads traffic to your site is to create a traffic icon inside Funnelytics with a custom parameter.

The settings in Funnelytics would look like this:

What this icon represents is all traffic coming to your site where GCLID was present in the URL bar.

The "value" field is left blank to account for all different variations.
