How to track Paypal redirects in your funnel with the 5 minute rule.
This article is a part of our legacy installation and does not apply to our Funnelytics 2.0 Performance Platform
There are cases where your user leaves your site and is taken to another site where your script cannot be placed. This is common with checkout platforms redirecting the user to Paypal in order to complete the checkout.
The Problem
When a user goes from your site to another site and back to your site, the user's flow will break and we won't be able to see the direct flow of traffic in the Funnelytics canvas.
The Solution

Map 'paypal.com' as a page in between the checkout page and the thank you page.
You can also find out what page is in between the checkout page and the thank you page in your own funnel by analyzing the previous steps on the thank you page.
If it takes longer than 5 minutes for a user to go from the PayPal domain to the thank you page, Funnelytics won't show that the visitor went from the checkout page to Paypal.

Adding Purchase Actions
Because you don't have the ability to install different scripts in Paypal, we recommend that you use simple actions to represent purchases between the Paypal and thank you pages.
