How to use the step attribute explorer to filter steps and make them more specific.
This article is a part of our legacy installation and does not apply to our Funnelytics 2.0 Performance Platform
This feature allows you to explore additional attributes associated with a step. In the following sections, we'll explain what additional attributes you can explore for each step type.
The step attribute explorer button is the little tag looking icon located on the bottom of the selected element.

Pages
The attributes for a page icon are the URL parameters that we detected on the selected page. This may look similar to the "previous steps" window but behaves differently in this explorer.

Clicking the blue + icon under a page step attribute will create a FILTER for that page icon. Adding the filter will only show the number of users on that specific page WHERE the user had the added URL parameter. This is not a common use case so you likely will never need to use this feature.
Actions
The attributes for an action icon include any of the custom parameters that you passed to Funnelytics for a given event.
For example, in our purchase actions, we're passing additional properties for the name of the product, and the SKU.

This allows you to take an action that is pretty general like a purchase icon, and add a filter to specify exactly which product you want that action to represent.
Clicking the blue + icon in this window will add a property to the settings of the action and specify something more specific instead of all purchases, in this case.
Traffic
The attributes you can explore with traffic icons include any additional URL parameters (not just UTM parameters) that other people had in addition to the parameter(s) in the icon you are exploring.
What that means is you need to have at least one URL parameter defined in the settings of the traffic icon to see additional attributes.

The example in this image allows us to see "People who had utm_medium=email ALSO had these parameters". Toggle the dropdowns to see what additional properties existed and add those to the traffic source icon if you wish.
