Setting targets for your KPIs helps you quickly see if you're meeting your goals and get alerts when metrics fall below acceptable levels. Here's how to set up effective KPI targets:

Access the KPI Target Settings

There are two ways to set targets for your KPIs:

  • During KPI creation

  • From the dedicated Targets menu

Path 1: Create a KPI with Targets

To set a Target while creating a KPI all you need to do is

  1. Create a KPI following this guide: How to add Custom KPIs in Funnelytics

  2. In the Summary, before saving it check "Add Target"

  3. Choose your target parameters:

    • Target Value: The goal you want to achieve (e.g., 1500 visitors)

    • Threshold Value: The minimum acceptable value (e.g., 500 visitors)

    • Period: Choose daily, weekly, or monthly tracking

  4. Click Save and now you will both have the KPI and the Target available for you in your dashboard

Path 2: Add your Targets via the Targets page

To set a Target directly in the Targets page

  1. Click on the "Targets" label in the left bar

  2. Click Set New Target

  3. Fill in the required information

  4. Save

The Target Creation form will ask you the following information

  1. Target Name – The name of the target as it will appear in the list

  2. KPI Metric – The KPI metric that will be measured against the target value

  3. Target Value – The expected value that the KPI metric should reach

  4. Threshold Value – The minimum acceptable value for the KPI metric

  5. Time Period – The duration over which the target will be evaluated

Analyze Your Targets Performance

  1. Click on the "Targets" tab

  2. Set your date range for analysis

  3. View how your actual performance compares to your targets

For each KPI, you'll see:

  • Actual Value: Current performance for the selected time period

  • Projected Value: Extrapolated performance based on your current pace

  • Target: Your goal value

  • Threshold: Your minimum acceptable value

  • Status Indicator:

    • Green: On target (meeting or exceeding target)

    • Yellow: Below target but above threshold

    • Red: Critical (below threshold)

Edit Targets as Needed

You can adjust your targets at any time:

  1. Click on the 3 dots at the end of the row of the target you want to modify

  2. Click then "Edit" on the menu that appears

  3. Modify the target value, threshold value, or period

  4. Save your changes

The system will immediately recalculate your status based on the new targets.

Monitor in Workspace Overview

Your KPIs with targets also appear in your workspace overview, giving you a quick pulse on your business performance across all key metrics.

By setting appropriate targets and thresholds, you'll always have a clear view of whether your business is on track to meet its goals or if immediate attention is needed for underperforming metrics.
