Connecting your Google Ads account to Funnelytics allows you to get detailed insights into your ad performance directly within the platform. Here's a step-by-step guide:

NOTE: Ad Type Support

Currently in the Google Ads table the following ad type will not be shown

  • Youtube

While we are working in expanding the table support, those ads performance are easily viewable on the canvas using the UTMs and Custom parameters

Step 1: Select Your Workspace

  1. Ensure you're in the correct workspace where you want to connect Google Ads

  2. Navigate to the Integrations tab

  3. Find the Google Ads card in the Integrations section and click Connect Now

Step 2: Connect your Google Account

  1. You will be redirected to a Google Login Page to connect your Funnelytics workspace to your Google Account

  2. Log in using the account that has access to your Google Ads by either:

    1. Selecting it from available list

    2. Or Clicking Use Another Account and inserting the credentials

  3. Click Allow in the screen shown right after

Step 3: Select the ads account(s) to connect to the workspace

Once Google confirms your Identity it will redirect you back to the Dashboard.

Here you will be able to select which ad accounts to connect to the workspace.

  1. Check the account(s) that you want to connect to the Funnelytics workspace

  2. Click Save

For further clarity, let's understand better the type of accounts that we will be able to see in this dialogue.

  1. Manager Accounts

    1. These accounts are not selectable since they are Agency accounts used to manage Client accounts

    2. The Client accounts tied to Manager accounts will display the Manager Account name in their card

  2. Ads Accounts

    1. These are the only type of accounts that will be selectable (these include Client accounts under a Manager account)

  3. Suspended Accounts

    1. These accounts won't be selectable until reinstated and re-enabled from Google

  4. Unfinished Accounts

    1. These accounts won't be selectable since these accounts are not complete. They will be selectable once their setup will be completed.

Step 4: Choose Where to Append the Funnelytics Tracking Parameters

After connecting your Google Ads account, you’ll be prompted to choose at which level you want to append the Funnelytics tracking parameters to your ad URLs.

These parameters help improve your conversion tracking by passing key ad data into Funnelytics:

fl_adid={creative}&fl_adsrc=google&fl_adntw={network}

You can choose to apply them at the:

  • Account level (recommended)

  • Campaign level

  • Ad group level

While it’s technically possible to leave all checkboxes unselected, we strongly recommend selecting at least one level.

⚠️ It’s important to choose the correct level. Depending on how your tracking templates are currently structured, selecting a more granular level (such as Campaign or Ad Group) could override existing templates. In some cases, this may result in the Funnelytics parameters being the only parameters present in your ad URLs.

If you’re unsure, applying the parameters at the Account level is generally the safest option but you can always ask to your ad manager for clarifications and more details.

Step 5: View Your Google Ads Data

Once connected, you can view your ads data inside your Monitor page, in the Ads tab with multiple granularity options:

  • Campaign level

  • Ad set level

  • Individual ad level

This view will allow to have:

  • Switch between the various accounts with a simple dropdown

  • Parameter checker view

  • Impressions and spend data from Google

  • Funnelytics-tracked data like page visits and purchases from these ads

  • Impact of each ad and ad campaign to the KPIs you have set

Step 6: Modify Connection Later

You can always adjust your Google Ads integration:

  1. Return to the Integrations tab

  2. Click "Configure Integration" on the Google Ads card

  3. Update your account selections, the parameters template selection or completely reconnect if needed
