ThriveCart is a great Cart platform that allows you to set up a purchase funnel in almost no time.

With the Following guide you will be able to track purchases (as well as the single page views) generated by your ThriveCart funnels.

NOTE: Google Tag Manager

To deploy this solution we will need to use Google Tag Manager.

If you weren't already using it to install the Funnelytics script I suggest doing so as it will streamline all the operations.

ThriveCart allows users, at the end of their funnels, to either present a thank you page hosted on their platform or to redirect the end user somewhere else.

This solution will cover both cases independently of which ones you select for your funnels.

NOTE: CNAME

I always encourage any ThriveCart user to set a custom CNAME for their carts.

This simplifies the tracking operations across domains (if done using subdomains) and helps in creating a continuous journey in case there is traffic running directly to the checkout pages.

Some examples of good CNAME setup to streamline tracking are as follow (given my main site is hosted at mydomain.com)

  • checkout.mydomain.com

  • secure.mydomain.com

  • safe.mydomain.com

Step 1: Access your GTM Container

The first step is to access your GTM container at https://tagmanager.google.com.

If it is the first time for you using GTM follow this GUIDE

Step 2: Import the GTM Template

Download the ThriveCart tracking setup from HERE

Import the tracking setup in your container following this GUIDE

Step 3: Set Your GTM Container in Your ThriveCart Product

  1. Log in ThriveCart

  2. Go to Products

  3. Find the product that you want to track and click Edit

  4. Click on Checkout

  5. Click on Tracking

  6. Enable the Google Tag Manager checkbox

  7. Paste(or Type) the GTM container ID in the input field

  8. Click Next to save

NOTE: Purchase Redirect

If you are redirecting your users to a custom thank you page please ensure that the same GTM container you are using on ThriveCart renders there too.

Step 4: Verify Purchase Data in Funnelytics

Congratulations, you have successfully set up Funnelytics tracking for your ThriveCart purchases!

Now, all you need to do is make a test purchase on your website and check if the purchase data is getting populated in Funnelytics.

If you are not seeing the purchase data, make sure that your GTM container is properly set up and that the Funnelytics GTM Tracking setup is correctly imported.
