Detailed Tutorial

In this tutorial, we will explore the Map Tab in Funnelytics, a powerful tool that allows you to create and visualize your funnel on the canvas.

The Map Tab provides an intuitive interface to display various elements and steps within your funnel.

We'll walk you through how to call the Map Tab, its components, and demonstrate how to create a funnel using this feature.

Accessing the Map Tab

To open the Map Tab, follow these steps:

  1. Open The Side Menu. You can achieve this by either:

    • Clicking on the chevron icon on the top left to ma it open

    • Click on the "+" icon in the Left side of the Top toolbar

    • Right click on the canvas and then click "Add Step"

  2. Navigate to the "Mapping" tab in the side menu.

    • If your canvas is new, the Mapping Tab will be the default view.

    • If you have used other tabs like the Explorer before, the Mapping Tab will be the last tab you opened.

Components of the Map Tab

The Mapping Tab consists of the following components:

Search Bar

At the top of the Mapping Tab, there is a search bar that allows you to search for icons based on their names. Type in keywords related to the icon you want to find, and the results will be displayed instantly.

Tabs

There are several tabs available in the Mapping Tab:

  • Sources: This tab contains icons representing the various sources from which your website visitors originate.

  • Pages: In this tab, you'll find icons representing the different pages on your website.

  • Actions: The Actions tab includes icons representing user interactions with elements on your website.

  • Offline Icons: This tab displays custom icons that you can add to the Mapping Tab.

Adding Custom Icons

Funnelytics allows users that either on the Map Plus plan or any of the Performance plans to add custom icons to the Map Tab. To add a custom icon, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the any tab.

  2. Click on the "Add" button. A modal will pop up.

  3. Click the green button and select a JPEG or PNG image file that is under 5 MB in size from your computer.

  4. Click "Open," and the custom icon will be added to the list in the respective tab.

Completing your Canvas

Mapping Elements

To create a funnel, you can simply drag and drop icons from the Mapping Tab onto the canvas. Alternatively, click on the icon you want to add and then click on the canvas to place it.

Utilizing the Map Tab

The Map Tab offers an efficient way to visualize and organize your funnel. You can easily arrange and connect elements to create a clear representation of your customer journey.

Connecting Elements

Once you have placed icons on the canvas, you can connect them to create a flow. To connect elements, select an icon and click and drag the connection line from one of the connection icons (blue circles on the sides) towards the destination icon.

Using the Floating Explorer

If you prefer to map elements on-the-fly, you can use the Floating Explorer. Click and drag on the canvas to open the Floating Explorer, which displays the same elements as the Mapping Tab. You can continue mapping elements using this feature.

Restore a Previous Version of a Canvas

Ever needed a piece of canvas deleted days before?

Ever refreshed the page and lost the possibility of using the Undo (Ctrl+Z)?

The version history is what will save you in these cases.

The version history will revert your canvas back to a previous save point,

All you need to do to leverage this feature is:

  1. Click on the canvas name on the top left corner of the canvas itself

  2. Click Version History

  3. Click the Restore button next to the save point you want to restore

  4. Done!
